Shahid Ali is a 5th generation sitar player. His family lineage goes back to the Jaipur Gharana. He performs with classical and folk musicians all over Pakistan and is a much sought after sitar player.

This album collects several solo pieces, including raags and surs from the poetry of Sindhi Sufi, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. The music was recorded at the Institute of Sindhology, in Jamshoro, Sindh. Proceeds go to support the musicians.
