Girnari Jogi Group is a group of 7th and 8th generation, Pakistani classical and folk musicians. Jogis are traditionally snake charmers and they use an instrument called murli to put snakes and people in a trance. These Jogis hail from Umerkot, Sindh, Pakistan. Their ancestors came from Girnar, Gujarat, and also traveled with the Sufi poet and saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai of Sindh. This album was created to provide funds for the musicians after floods destroyed their homes in 2011.
